There was excitement in the air today in Liverpool city centre as filming took place outside St George's Hall for a new Netflix series. House of Guinness is set in 19th century Dublin and New York, and focuses on the Guinness family and the aftermath of the death of the firm's founder, Benjamin Guinness.
Pictures from the set show how the area outside St George's Hall was transformed for the filming. There were a number of horses on set and actors walking around in typical 19th century garb, with top and hats and tails for the men, and long flowing dresses for the women. On William Brown Street, the crew had muddied up the paving slabs to give the cobbles an authentic Victorian look and feel.
William Brown Street was partly closed for filming, but there was too much excitement for any objections to be raised. Everyone the ECHO spoke to was delighted to see the film crew in action.
