The new animated movie stars Chris Pratt in the title role as the iconic lasagna-loving, Monday-hating orange cat who originated in the 1978 Jim Davis comic strip.

Per Deadline, The Garfield Movie is projected to take in a 3-day total of $5.3 million by the end of its fourth weekend in domestic theaters. This will bring its cumulative domestic total to $78.8 million. Because the 2004 blended live-action and CGI feature Garfield: The Movie only earned $75.4 million in North America, it has now been supplanted as the No. 1 movie in the franchise at the domestic box office.
