The singer, whose real name is Christian Aghanenu, reportedly died at the age of 60 on Tuesday after an illness.While announcing Hanen’s death on Facebook, Chairman of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, Tony Okoroji, said, “I just received with shock the news of the passing on of the great Ozigizaga exponent, Hanen. Chris was a very talented and committed musician who worked with me closely on several projects in our days at Emi.
“Last year, Hanen was at the funeral of Moses of Felyxx and Mozzyz fame. He was also at COSON House for the celebrated funeral of Rub-A-Dub Master, Ras Kimono. Hanen was very humble and an easy-going person, who will be terribly missed by all of us in the music industry who knew him.”Reacting to the post, fans eulogised Hanen for his impressive works as a singer.
One of them, Meg Wilkins, said, “Unbelievable, why are all these mainstream artistes exiting the world just like the party is over. My hurt is that I know and had social relationships with all these legends passing on. “Hopefully, they will be making music in heaven. Chris had a huge impact on the music industry and was celebrated. His music cut across young, middle age and old music lovers.”“Oh my God, Hanen again? The industry has lost yet another,” Anthony Ekate said.Victor Nwokocha lamented, “I can’t understand why the good ones go so soon.”
