A duo of U.S. retirement home residents just became some of the world’s oldest songwriters after releasing their first album together. It touches on the themes of aging, joy and finding new best friends in their golden years.

TORONTO -- There are relatively few songwriting teams -- well past their 80s—who are dropping new music, but Alan R. Tripp and Marvin Weisbord are now among them.

Tripp told CTV News Channel on Tuesday that as people age, “you can have very best friends and you lose them or sometimes they move away. But what you find is , you make new best friends and that’s what makes getting older satisfactory.”, was Weisbord’s idea for a birthday gift for his friend, Tripp.
