Today, I can handle most podcasts andat twice their natural speed, as long as they’re not information-heavy. But I typically try to watch movies and TV shows at 1.2x speed. As any millennial stereotype will tell you, people from my generation are plagued by FOMO—the fear of missing out. For me, FOMO serves as a callous reminder that time is finite—that I can’t possibly learn, or see, or experience all the wonderful, interesting things that are available to me. Instead, I have to pick and choose—and inevitably miss out on things I would have loved, if only I could have.
