As at 6.33pm, unofficial results showed that Barisan had garnered about 70% of votes counted against Pakatan Harapan candidate Karmain Sardini from Bersatu, who had 27% of the votes tallied thus far.
The by-election was a six-cornered fight between Wee, Karmaine, Gerakan’s Wendy Subramaniam, Berjasa’s Datuk Dr Badhrulhisham Abdul Aziz as well as independent candidates Dr Ang Chuan Lock and Faridah Aryani Abdul Ghaffar.
