Russell Crowe’s niece slams ‘bulls**t’ claims actor got special treatment from NSW RFS

Yesterday the actor’s niece, Chelsea Crowe, described the neighbour’s claim and subsequent media reports as “bulls**t”.Ms Crowe, who lives on the property at Nana Glen, wrote in a fiery Facebook post: “Unfortunately, there is a lot of gossip & bulls**t media going around that fire crews abandoned properties in favour to protect Russell’s home.

“If you look at a map and knew the boundary lines the entire property is backed by tallawudjah and the state forest. Whilst they moved to crews to a previously scouted vantage point to attack it as it came through the ridge.“This move was not to protect his buildings in particular. It wouldn’t have mattered who lived there. But at midnight they were still fighting it to protect not just from the residential side and the farm side .

Crowe, who is currently overseas, has been providing updates about his property over the past few days on Twitter.Fire hit my place late in the day yesterday.

I call bs that it ever happened. He wasn’t even in the country. They wouldn’t have known which was his house. Trying to get attention by bringing someone else down is just sick.

But if Crowe didn't ask for the special treatment nor did he expect it but if he was given special treatment (which it sounds like he wasn't) how can Crowe be blamed? This tall poppy / underdog / battler approach to life we have here has gotta stop.

I would presume the fire fighters have enough to be dealing with without saying to each other 'ooohhh X lives there how about we save that first then we will go next door' the commonsense lacking is some people leaves a lot to be desired
