Nominees in the category include NPR's "All Songs Considered"; iHeartRadio's "Bobbycast" and "Disgraceland"; Pushkin Industries' "Broken Record" with Malcolm Gladwell, Rick Rubin, and Bruce Headlam; PodcastOne's "expediTIously with Tip ‘T.I.' Harris"; Radiotopia's "Song Exploder"; and WBEZ's "Sound Opinions.
Gladwell, widely known for his "Revisionist History" series, is also up for best overall host — male, as is "WTF" host Marc Maron, whose interview subjects occasionally hail from the music sphere. The show, featuring 30 categories across the podcasting landscape, will take place Friday, Jan. 17 from the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles, and will be broadcast and streamed across iHeartMedia stations nationwide.This year's show will also honor people in three Icon Awards categories, the Innovator Award, the Social Impact Award and the Pioneer Award. Last year, NPR was honored with the Podcast Pioneer Award.
