Andrew F. MacRae, an attorney for Reed, told NBC News in a statement on Tuesday that Reed's advocates are grateful for the shows of support,"celebrity and otherwise."
The inmate said that Fennell, who is white, was upset that Stites was having an affair with a black man. Fennell's lawyer, Robert Phillips, could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday. In a statement Monday to CBS News, the lawyer said Fennell was not involved in Stites' killing and had been devastated by her death.
His DNA evidence was at the crime scene? Did he have consensual sex, and other inmate killed her? There are a lot of unknowns, BUT 185 death row inmates have been cleared of the murders they were accused of. It would be hard to bring them back from the dead if executed in error
