Pahang Fire and Rescue Department director Nor Hisham Mohamad said search efforts were underway after the department received a distress call at 2.02pm.
He said the department had received information from the Lipis district police headquarters that two men on a fiber boat had fallen into the river.He said one of the men was saved, while the other was swept away by strong currents.“The search and rescue team includes seven men from the Lipis Fire and Rescue Department with one boat, 23 police officers and personnel with one boat, and 13 Civil Defence Force personnel with one boat.“Operations are still being carried out now,” he said.
Initial investigations found that the boat’s engine had died and the boat was pushed by the heavy currents before it crashed into a bridge pole causing the boat to break in two.Pitt’s wife, Farah Ahmad, posted a photo of their daughters on Instagram confirming the incident.
