After a second Studiocanal slate deal came to an end , Anton launched its own film production arm in 2019, green-lighting four films: $45M Gerard Butler action picwith John Boyega, Olivia Cooke and Bill Skarsg, which is currently in pre-production. Anton also backed and handles world sales on $40M animated feature“We are hands on in the formation of film projects but to date we have always partnered with a creative producer,” explains Raybaud.

“We’re in the process of hiring a head of development and acquisitions executives here in Europe,” expands Raybaud. “There will be a head of TV here too. We currently have a staff just below 20. We want to grow to around 30.” Actors are largely expected to be newcomers, says Raybaud, something which can play well to a younger, digital first audience. “If the market reacts well, it’s highly returnable”.
