Mojto’s Beta Film GmbH, a distributor of TV license rights, is in the wave of European production houses buying into companies or setting up joint ventures and subsidiaries across borders to snag talent and offset risk.
Together with ZDFE, it founded Intaglio Films, headed by “Game of Thrones” exec producer Frank Doelger, whose first major project is the adaptation of Frank Schaetzing’s bestseller “The Swarm.” Beta’s co-productions include Tom Tykwer’s crime drama “Babylon Berlin” and Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s feature “Never Look Away,” Germany’s entry for the 2019 Oscars. Donnersmarck and Mojto are teaming for a TV adaptation of the fantasy graphic novel “Thorgal.
