Beleaguered R&B singer R. Kelly was denied bail Wednesday in his New York City sex-abuse case after a judge agreed with prosecutors that freeing him from jail would create a risk of him fleeing or tampering with witnesses.
Kelly, 52, didn’t attend the hearing in federal court in Brooklyn. He remains behind bars in Chicago awaiting a trial on related charges that’s scheduled for April 27. In court papers filed Monday, Kelly's attorneys claimed he's so broke he couldn't afford to flee. The papers also complained he's only able to receive visits in jail from one of two previous live-in girlfriends at a time.

If R&B singer R. Kelly is innocent and the charges are based on false pretenses, it must be clear to him that his current situation is only of a temporary nature and that he is to consider a generous compensation after this and in accordance with the law.
'Beleaguered'? R Kelly is accused of sex trafficking and abuse of myriad teenage girls. Just like Jeffrey Epstein. It's almost as if the fact that he is famous and his young black victims are not leads you to believe they don't matter. Stop framing R Kelly as the victim.
