The great thing about being an editor in chief is that you get to see the world, watch a lot of fashion shows, and understand the DNA of what makes up a brand. The bad thing is, ironically, that you see so much, and there are no guarantees that any of it will move you.
Their 10-year anniversary show, which got rained on and was still so much fun, wasn’t a long, drawn-out retrospective of pieces from the past, but a hopeful look to the future and what they can do better to be more affordable and more sustainable. As far as prices, most things shown on the runway ranged from $100 for tops and layering pieces, going up just over $600 for leather pieces.
With two stores opening in the U.S., despite many retailers closing, it speaks to the power of why fashion needs to be less caught up in grandiosity, and more mindful of brands like Ganni that I see women wearing every day, no matter what country I’m in.
