What You Missed Day 1 at iHeartRadio Festival, From Tim McGraw's Cars Cover to Halsey's 'Graveyard' Smash

The iHeartRadio Music Festival lineup can always give listeners a bit of aural whiplash, bouncing around between hip-hop, country, classic rock, pop, EDM and everything in-between. But Friday's day 1 crew actually had quite a bit in common.

While Tim McGraw filled the day's country slot, there was also Hootie & The Blowfish, whose frontman, Darius Rucker, has made his living in Nashville over the past decade. And then there was a surprise appearance by Lil Nas X, whose breakthrough megahit "Old Town Road" obviously owes a lot to the twang of country.

So it makes sense to hear Backstreet Boys, Cage the Elephant and French Montana all in one five-hour stretch -- which is what went down Friday night at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena.
