Of course, this isn’t the most insightful statement, as it’s not exactly a stretch to say the actress wants her third marriage to be successful.
“She wants to give Colin a child too, the sooner the better!” adds the anonymous insider. “Scarlett thinks he’s a special guy and knows he’ll be a great daddy!” To accent this claim, the outlet suggests Johansson might already be expecting by including a picture of the actress at the Toronto Film Festival on September 8, along with a circle around her midsection and the caption, “A little bump.”
The outlet’s premise is based on the word of an unknown “source,” but Johansson’s rep is going on the record to refute it. The actress hasn’t set a date for her wedding, so the location is still up in the air, too. This also means no invitations have been sent out. The publication is clearly just trying to bet on the two having the ceremony in New York City based solely on the fact they’re both from there and live there.
The tabloid also falls into the familiar trope of pointing to non-existent “bumps” on female celebrities. There’s an extremely one-sided standard the tabloids push that requires famous women to only wear skin-tight clothing or show off their abdominal muscles, lest they be bombarded with pregnancy rumors. Photos of Johansson after the film festival reveal her looking as in-shape and bump-free as she has for the past few years.
