Bond isn't a shape shifter, his recasts rely on recast logic. Recast logic doesn't apply to changes as massive as gender swaps. If Bond suddenly woke up one day as a woman, don't you think that'd raise a few questions in universe?

I think it's great that Brosnan supports women being the lead in this franchise, but I'd like to see more support for unique stories about women, created, produced and directed by women. We can create our own female spy characters. I'm perfectly okay with James Bond being a male.
