The IPA's GideonCRozner said, 'Victoria has the most lenient sentences of any jurisdiction in the country that goes back to when Rob Hulls was Attorney-General and absolutely stacked the judiciary with a bunch of 'lovey' judges.' RitaPanahi FridayShow

A 22-year-old man has escaped a jail term in Victoria despite assaulting two paramedics. The magistrate determined it was best not to imprison the young male who the court heard was in a psychotic state after consuming a 'cocktail of drugs' during a music festival.

The IPA's Gideon Rozner said, "The IPA has extensive research on this and found Victoria has the most lenient sentences of any jurisdiction in the country that goes back to when Rob Hulls was Attorney-General and absolutely stacked the judiciary with a bunch of 'lovey' judges." A female paramedic has said she feels the magistrate showed more concern for the assaulter than her and has also faced psychological trauma as a result of the attack.

GideonCRozner RitaPanahi Time for change?

GideonCRozner RitaPanahi Hulls and his like should have any entitlements removed for their destruction of our judicial system. Present judges and magistrated monitored and removed is showing incompetence.

GideonCRozner RitaPanahi Who would want to live in Victoria- it would have to be the most radical corrupt state in Australia- to attack paramedics is way beyond a disgrace - police bad enough - hope he wants them some time - Me- I would get my own back.

GideonCRozner RitaPanahi Revolving door. Lawyers never out of business.

GideonCRozner RitaPanahi It's the sanctuary state

GideonCRozner RitaPanahi Don’t see the value in more time in jail. Rehabilitation is more effective and important. Consult a criminologist, not your gut (or the IPA guy that speaks on behalf of your gut).

GideonCRozner RitaPanahi Tragic, disgusting, disgraceful and outrageous.

GideonCRozner RitaPanahi Is this the same State handing out High-Ropes courses as a prize for offending?

GideonCRozner RitaPanahi I agree, pell should have been given a much longer sentence!

GideonCRozner RitaPanahi This is horrifying

‘Lack of justice’ in Victoria | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Rita Panahi says there is a “lack of justice” in Victoria after a man escaped a jail term, despite “bashing” two paramedics.\n\n“The magistrate determined it was best not to imprison the 22-year-old who the court heard was in a psychotic state after consuming a cocktail of drugs during a music festival,” she said.\n\n“Breaking the law by obtaining and using illegal drugs and then indulging in more criminality should see an offender's sentence increased, but often the former is considered a mitigating factor.”\n\nShe said it’s a “little rich” for Premier Daniel Andrews and senior ministers to be “decrying inadequate sentences” when Labor is responsible for appointing “soft-on-crime magistrates and judges”. RitaPanahi And Pell should have got 10 years.
