Staff at Chenta Watie with the patriotic-themed headscarves. — Sunpix by Ashraf ShamsulAS MALAYSIANS prepare to raise the Jalur Gemilang high to celebrate our country’s 62 years of independence this Saturday, a design and print company in Simpang Renggam, Johor, has come out with some innovative patterns for the hijab or headscarf to reflect the Merdeka spirit.

Azrin says they came out with this patriotic line of headscarves because they wanted a way for Malaysians to show their love for the country. Azrin adds that it was not easy initially to come out with patterns for the headscarves as there are so many competitors out there vying for a share of the market.

The company also uses the sublimation technique to imprint the designs, a technology that not many other companies possess.
