Gladiators' Wolf Michael Van Wijk, 66, is stronger than ever and reveals hopes for the show's return 25 years after axe

GLADIATORS star Wolf, now aged 66, claims he is stronger than ever and has begged telly bosses to bring the hit family show back 25 years after it was axed.

Michael Van Wijk was the perfect pantomime villain in the 90s classic and now spends every day in they gym after moving to New Zealand.Appearing live from his Kiwi home on today's Lorraine he told host Christine Lampard he would be keen to make an epic return to the show."I'm so fit now. I'm raring to go. I wish the producers would bring it back.

He joined Sky One's revived 2008 Gladiators show due to popular demand where his standing ovation on entering the arena is said to have lasted five minutes holding up the filming."Please bring it back," he begged.

Jet - Diane Youdale gave up her Gladiator career to train as a psychotherapist and pilates instructor.
