Scarlett Johansson Was Unsure Marvel Would Make 'Black Widow' Her Way

star David Harbour was revealed to be playing Red Guardian, described as a Russian version of Captain America whose real name is Alexei Shostakov — and who has a complicated history with Black Widow.

This annoys me only because it makes it sound like the genre hasn’t already been elevated by the bevvy of amazing Marvel films from the last decade.

“elevate the genre” usually means making a superhero movie that wants to taken seriously by imitating another genre.

'Or, you know, make one more exactly-the-same Marvel movie.'

'... oh and also because I was contractually obligated.'

She should be allowed to play trans.

Well you can’t put a tree in every movie just because a white lady wants you to.
