Artist RaFia Santana takes thinking pink to the extreme.

her Times Square installation with lyrics like, “I’m gonna make it big/I’mma see my name in all of them lights.” Today, she’s released a new video for “Ain't Nothin'," directed by C.S. Martinez, which depicts Santana dancing in the middle of Times Square while her animated face takes over the billboards in the background. She’s a photographer, too, like both of her parents.

Warm colors also make up the bulk of her wardrobe, too. “It’s very playful,” Santana said of what exactly drew her to this particular shade of fuchsia.“ My first favorite color that I can remember was purple, and I love purple too, but it’s almost like a business version of pink, a more serious version. Pink makes me feel soothed. It makes me feel happy to look at it,” Santana said. “I never get a sharp feeling from that color.

Santana started her current clothing collection in college when she began thrifting, but over the past six years her closet has steadily become pinker and pinker. She’ll search for the shade on eBay—she says she recently bought pink Puma platform sneakers and she’s always adding vintage ’80s jackets with peony pink accents to her collection—and at this point, she estimates her closet is about 75 percent pink.
