Ms Moynihan, who featured in an RTÉ documentary earlier this month, was subject to an investigation and threatened with dismissal after she became pregnant by another garda in 1984.Drew Harris told the Oireachtas Justice Committee that garda records show cases which"bear similarities in respect of unmarried female Garda members and it's been recorded on discipline files in respect of pregnancy outside of wedlock".
Asked if he supported the payment of an ex-gratia sum to Ms Moynihan and a full pension, rather than the reduced pension she receives after leaving on health grounds, Mr Harris said these matters were subject to negotiations. He also said he had not been aware of the case before the RTÉ Documentary on One programme was broadcast.
If were to give pensions to women who had babies and lost jobs, should we also give pensions to women who lost jobs because they were women?

Of course there are..and loads more other types of stories..the country was ran by the Catholic cult..my dad was nearly killed in a crash in 1969 by a drunk priest....the Guards refused to prosecute him....he couldn't find a solicitor to sue him..the Garda told him to forget it
