has just revealed footage of his 2019 Cannes Film Festival performance, along with the digitally remastered video for his 1983 hit "I'm Still Standing."premiere afterparty, while the music video was shot 36 years earlier in the same spot: Carlton Beach, Cannes.
The original footage for the "I'm Still Standing" promo was nearly lost after the director, Russell Mulcahy, fell off of a pier with his camera while filming. Re-scanned from the original negative and reconstructed entirely from scratch, "I'm Still Standing" is now visible in ultra-clear 4K. "The energy you see in the video is the energy on the set," Mulcahy said of the video.
