I read this Instagram post about Bea Alonzo losing her wallet in the Lisbon, Portugal train station. There’s also this article about Sam Milby whose passport was in the wallet stolen by three men. An OFW alleged Alex Gonzaga lost her wallet while vlogging around the Rome train station but I have yet to verify this with her.
“These pickpockets travel in groups posing as tourists. There is usually a mom — she is pregnant or has a baby — and a teenage girl who will sandwich you while seated with them or they’ll create an obstruction in the entrance of the train to distract you so they could steal from you. They also usually have trolleys or backpacks,” one OFW told us.Whether you’re in Rome or Manila or anywhere in the world, it is best to mind your things.
Anyway, be aware too of the Limited Traffic Zones in Rome, Florence, Milan and Pisa. It is called Zona Traffico Limitatoin Italian, abbreviated to ZTL. Many historical centers, like the Vatican or the duomos in Florence and Milan, and the leaning tower of Pisa, have these to reduce congestion and pollution.
ZTL permits are cheap and can be purchased online for online at around 5 euros . That’s certainly a better deal than getting fined.
