If you're subscribed to Netflix, then you've probably come across the streaming giant's new movie, "Always Be My Maybe."
And if you're a fan of local showbiz, then you'd probably already said to yourself, "That title sounds familiar." Back in 2016, Star Cinema released a movie with the same title, with Gerald Anderson and Arci Munoz as its leads. Now plot wise, the two have absolutely nothing in common. But the funny coincidence just had to be mentioned and when Esquire got the chance to interview the stars of Netflix's "Always Be My Maybe," they showed them the poster for Star Cinema's.
It was the lead-in to a question about their inspiration for the title, which Ali Wong, who not only starred in the new Netflix movie but also co-wrote it, attributed to old R&B songs.Watch more in iWant or TFC.tv In the same interview, she and her co-star, Randall Park, also talked about how they wanted to create something akin to a Beyonce or Jay-Z concert, "something both men and women can enjoy.
