A trial gives no guarantees. You only need 1 or 2 jurors 'sympathising' with his position as a man, and he would get off. Settling means he and his lawyers knew there was enough evidence to probably secure an eviction, and so settling is practically an admission of guilt.
Hookers or porn stars would have been a cheaper option.
People bitching about them taking the money. What would you do? What has happened to them has happened, him going to prison doesn’t help the victim but a couple million might. Is it justice? No. Does getting justice always help the victims? No.

A lot of people don't seem to realise that these kinds of things are so hard to prove beyond doubt in court since it's usually one person's word against the other's. Agreeing to a huge payout like this is the closest to an admission of guilt anyone was likely to get.
