’s reality television programme from ITV earlier this week has occurred amidst a mood of public condemnation.
While a spokesman for Prime Minister Theresa May noted ‘deep concern’ regarding the case, ITV insisted in a statement that the programme had ‘significant and detailed duty of care processes in place for contributors pre, during and post show’, built up over the 14 years it had aired.For ITV, the death of Dyson follows other controversial tragedies – in particular, the deaths of former Love Island contestants, Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon in 2018.
