Bodies piled on floor of overflowing morgue in Mexican holiday hotspot Tijuana

SHOCKING images show dead bodies piled up on the floor of a Mexican morgue in a city dubbed the most violent in the world.

Relatives taken to the centre to identify their loved ones said their butchered remains were unrecognisable and compared the scenes to a war zone. But he has now admitted that the facilities in Tijuana were overcrowded with corpses and assured reporters the bodies were no longer on the floor. The president of the Superior Court of State Justice, Salvador Juan Ortiz Morales, claimed that the refrigerators had needed cleaning and someone took those photos when they were emptied.According to figures from the National Public Security System, last year was one of the most violent years in Tijuana's history with over 2000 homicides, which is an average of six murders per day.
