Jeremy Kyle’s programme was taken off air to “protect the show” from adverse reaction, ITV’s chief executive has said as the broadcaster faced pressure from MPs to drop the programme permanently following the death of a guest who failed a lie-detector test.
'to protect the show.' Good grief, that's what it's come to. Never mind respect for the deceased, common decency, a functioning moral compass. Every day my faith in this country and some of its people dips just a little bit more.
I bet it tried harder to protect the show than the guest.
Yeah, protect the show. To hell with the people, eh? Maybe that's been the problem all along. Given the show's main purpose of moralising over the flaws of others, I feel we can all wade into Mr Kyle and his vile little parasite of a show.
This show should have aired an episode, caused outrage to humanity & been immediately axed.
