Star of Sky Atlantic's Riviera Julia Stiles has told Sky News that she feels despaired by President Donald Trump.
The actress, who has been an outspoken critic of Mr Trump in the past, admitted she had a look of despair when talking about the US president and said:"I would like to be optimistic to think that there's hope for my country and how it affects the rest of the world but I'm not alone in that country." She added:"I look forward to the day it becomes a movie and we can look back on this fleeting time in US history and I hope that it is fleeting... I don't have a crystal ball."Stiles, who also appears in the Bourne films, has previously criticised the billionaire tycoon for making Twitter"gross" and once tweeted a veiled message to the president, saying"#StopTheTwitterTantrums".
Talking about women on screen, Stiles told Sky News she was"excited" about the opportunities to play strong female roles after the rise of shows like Fleabag and Killing Eve.Asked about Riviera, she said:"A show like this could so easily be about the billionaire men and the male businessmen... but really the powerhouses and the movers and shakers are the female characters.
