In a new blog post, A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin drops a major hint about upcoming prequel series HBO is developing for release after Game of Thrones comes to an end with this year’s Season 8.

“The one I am not supposed to call The Long Night will be shooting later this year,” Martin wrote. “Two other shows remain in the script stage, but are edging closer.” One of the"Game of Thrones" prequel series will follow the Targaryens, George R.R. Scrap it! Since season 8 of GoT is basically undercutting narratives left and right no one is going to care about a prequel to a saga that went no where.

For some time I thought that GRRMspeaking was at the same level as Tolkien. If the last books are a reflection of the last season, he will hardly reach that literature stature. You cannot built a character to betray his/her core to accommodate an easy outcome GameOfThornes
