Actor and comedian David Eastgate has pleaded guilty to making a menacing phone call to his former girlfriend in which he said he would not stop contacting her as long as she was in contact with his other former partner.Muriel's Wedding the Musical
According to a statement of agreed facts tendered in the Downing Centre Local Court on Monday, the woman said she felt "anxious and scared" following the phone call. The woman repeatedly told Eastgate to stop contacting her, telling him in the conversation, "what you are doing right now is harassing me, and I am asking you to stop calling me".He responded, "You can take another AVO out, but I swear to God, if you remain friends with [the other ex-girlfriend], I would think very carefully if I were you. I would think about it really f---ing carefully.
When the woman ended the phone call, Eastgate called her a further six times in five minutes but the calls were not answered.
