Stationary-bike maker Peloton responded to publishers’ lawsuit alleging copyright infringement

Peloton Interactive Inc. sued a group of music publishers and an industry trade organization, alleging they engaged in anticompetitive behavior by banding together to extract unfair licensing terms for music used on Peloton’s video-streaming stationary exercise bikes.

Peloton’s action Tuesday is a countersuit to a lawsuit filed in March in which the publishers, including Downtown Music Publishing, Pulse Music Publishing, Ole and Peermusic, allege Peloton infringed on copyrights by failing to obtain licenses for some compositions...
