The report was lodged on Tuesday by Protect and Save The Children , a member of the Child Rights Coalition Malaysia , at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters. The CRCM, which issued a statement on Tuesday , said that they were extremely disturbed by his actions. "Such conduct also violates his daughter's rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which Malaysia acceded to in 1995, and the principles of which we are obligated to uphold," the CRCM said. It called for the police and the Welfare Department to"take swift and thorough action to investigate the matter and charge Datuk Syukri appropriately for his violations of existing laws".
