“The Kelly,” as it’s known to local folks, is a mission to engage, inspire, and educate local artists and the public. It’s named after John “Kelly” Fitzpatrick, who was considered one of the South’s most celebrated artists and art promoters of the 1930s & 40s. Today, Wetumpka officially cuts the ribbon at a brand new community art studio at the Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts.
This brand new community art studio will allow The Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts to branch into the field of digital art and target children in this area. It’s equipped with the Art Start program, designed to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination by exploring the world of digital art.
