Country singer and four-time Grammy nominee Ingrid Andress has gone viral for her widely panned performance of the national anthem at the 2024 MLB Home Run Derby at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

FILE - Ingrid Andress performs on day four of the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago on Aug. 6, 2023. nominee belted an a cappella version of “The Star-Spangled Banner," an incredibly challenging song to sing. Clips of her less-than-popular rendition have since made the rounds on social media.

Chris Wright, the executive editor of Saturday Down South, was a bit more delicate: “I enjoy Ingrid Andress’ music and have seen her in concert,”A representative for Andress did not immediately respond to the Associated Press' request for comment.Following her performance, Fergie released a statement:"I’ve always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA,” the Grammy-winning singer said.
