Harrisburg police searched the Susquehanna River for a gun tossed in the water during Thursday's Fourth of July festivities.The fireworks show was cut short after officers arrested multiple people with guns.Here's what happened, according to a city spokesperson:On multiple occasions, officers spotted individuals they believed were in possession of weapons.When police approached one of those individuals, a juvenile, he allegedly ran.
They were asked what they were going to do to improve security at future events in the city.'We take all measures that we can possibly take, but I'm sure there are some things that we can do better,' Carter said. 'But if you look nationwide, you know, you can plan to have as many officers, as many soldiers that you want to have there, as many security personnel, but if people have in their mind that they're doing something, it's just going to happen.
