Grunach the Undying will be a boss you fight later in the game in the Echo Swamp map as you chase a traitorous Descendant through there. He’s a floating guy with a flamethrower and the traditional “spawn three balls” over his head to make him immune mechanic that 90% of other bosses have in this game.
But as you play, you will discover you will destroy the balls and they will all respawn almost immediately, every time, meaning you can never get past his shield. In all other cases to this point this just means you were too slow to kill the balls if they start respawning, but here? It’s different, and something the game does not communicate whatsoever.. Namely the order in which they spawn when they pop up.
Anecdotally, I read somewhere you just need to shoot the ball “with the red triangle” next to it. That, however, is the indicator for the enemy itself, but it does overlap with the middle ball. And both times I tracked the triangle itself, the middle ball was indeed the last one to shoot. I don’t know if that was just luck, but it may be worth a shot if you lose track of spawn order.
This is terrible! Why is this designed like this? The strikes are meant to be casually run with no-mic randoms and the idea that this boss suddenly brings in this “order” mechanic when zero bosses with the same ball mechanic did before this, is ludicrous.
