Two teenagers have been arrested and another three are on the run following a violent alleged crime spree across Sydney. Armed with baseball bats and a machete, the group allegedly stormed homes and businesses during what police say was a “cowardly” rampage. A 28-year-old man was beaten when the gang allegedly broke into his Chester Hill home about 7pm on Thursday. One witness told 7NEWS they heard “screaming and yelling”.
The victim was treated by paramedics for facial injuries and was taken to Auburn Hospital. The teens were spotted in Fairfield East about 10.30pm, but allegedly ran off when officers tried to speak with them. A 19-year-old was eventually arrested at a nearby home following a foot chase. “A short time later, police located the blue Holden Barina with two people onboard,” Acting Commander Darren Sly said.
