Boxer David Jamieson hopes a convincing win over England’s Perry Howe will lead to a title fight in his home town of East Kilbride.
Experienced fighter Jamieson hopes to have something special lined up for PlaySport in East Kilbride in September.“There will be five fights on the bill, I’ll be top of it, and it will be a sort of homecoming for me up there. “That would be massive, and a serious step in the right direction. I want to get back to where I was, and that’s exactly where we’re looking to get – back into that top 10, and chasing a British title or something like that.”Sustained pressure in the second round forced Howe to take a knee, and he bowed out of the fight, admitting later on social media it was for self-preservation reasons.
“He couldn’t have been a nicer lad and you find that in this game. It’s all just business, but you tend to find in boys at this level that they’re all respectful and good people – they’re doing it for the right reasons.
