The Los Angeles punk band X performed in August 2023 at Cleveland’s House of Blues, playing a 22-song set that spanned the band's fabled career. , Billy Zoom and D. J. Bonebrake have announced a new album, “Smoke & Fiction,” and they’re calling the Aug. 2 release “the ninth and final album” in, announcing a “Smoke & Fiction” tour named after the new record. Dates have been confirmed for July 6 through Oct. 30, including a show in Alabama.

During a 2023 interview, X’s Cervenka told Wake she considers herself to be in “the best band in the world.” The singer also talked about a new album that was in the works.
