The sounds of music filled Gas Works Park as tens of thousands of people filed in.

“We’re gonna sunscreen up and be out, take a break, hydrate, and wait for the show,” said Alysha Aiumu. “We Started way back in 1950 and were really excited for our first event out to be able to do these fireworks over Lake Union,” Seafair CEO Eric Corning told KOMO News. “It's something we’ve been talking about the last two or three years, and we’re finally able to put it together, so we’re excited about the opening to the fireworks this year,” said Corning.
