Rochester, N.Y. - Today marks the day of our country's independence and as it comes to a close, fireworks are filling the skies. A lot of preparation goes into the fireworks show in Downtown Rochester, which is put on by a hometown company based in Canandaigua.

This Independence Day, Canandaigua company 'Young Explosives' is celebrating 75 years of bringing entertainment to millions across the country. For the downtown Rochester firework display, David Sylvester and his crew began setting up at noon this 4th of July and this year, they had a little help from a Rochester Native Jay Simms.

Sylvester has been the mastermind behind the Rochester show for more than a decade and has the same reaction every time. And this year, folks can expect to see some of that cutting edge technology. Sylvester sharing, "We do a lot of pattern shells there's a few news one this year, the cat is always popular this year we have a cat with a bow tie, so we'll have to be looking out for that one.
