A Family Affair follows obnoxious film star Chris Cole , who gets involved with his put-upon assistant Zara ’s mother, played by Kidman, obviously leaving her less than impressed. It also stars Oscar-winner Kathy Bates. Nicole previously revealed A Family Affair had a different and more explicit title – Motherf***** – which initially drew her and Zac into the project. Audiences are apparently ignoring the bad reviews Zac told People Magazine: ‘That made the script stay at the top of the pile.
