Fair City has moved from four episodes a week to three in order to cut costs - Una says it's a 'pity' but she isn't worrying about the show being cancelled as people need it

Una Crawford O'Brien has said that she doesn't think RTE could get rid of Fair City because it's needed on the channel.

Speaking to RSVP Magazine, Una said: "It’s sad in a way because the people who watch it, they love it and it’s taking away one night a week of entertainment for them, so that’s a pity. But I suppose with the cutbacks in RTÉ, they had to do something and closing down for two months of the year saves a fair bit of money. We still record four episodes a week, but only three go out."

Una stars on the soap alongside her long time partner, Bryan Murray, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's back in 2022.
