The Episode/Act model of Destiny 2 has generated some amount of controversy as skeptics say it relies too much onThis was because of clarification by Bungie in this week’s patch that said players were not supposed to be able to progress their season pass rank beyond 100 in Act 1, which ends in two weeks. Right now, there are 50 more levels unlocked in Act 2, and 50 more in Act 3.
But this change means XP gains once you hit 100 mean…nothing. You only get Bright Engrams after that, easily the most useless thing in Destiny 2 where I’ve gotten a handful of meaningful rewards from those in seven full years of playing this game.The behavior this XP leveling concept cuts off now is that in theory, players should now be saving both bounties they complete and not claiming weekly challenges they complete until the next Act drops.
While timegating missions and loot is probably not going to change, this seems like an easy fix, and this somehow made an already weird timegating situation with these rewards even worse, not that 4x the XP requirement to level was good before either.
