A 22-year-old student allegedly stabbed in the neck by a 14-year-old boy at the University of Sydney has been released from hospital. Counter-terrorism police were called in after the incident on Tuesday, when the teen was accused of stabbing the 22-year-old man with a kitchen knife at the inner-city Camperdown campus about 8.30am. The victim, who was taken to nearby Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, is now recovering at home.
“However, I can tell you that we are seeing some really concerning trends in the presentation of terrorism in our country, and in fact these are global trends,” she said on Wednesday. Young people becoming radicalised was particularly disturbing, and social media and technology was partly to blame, she said.
