Alex Wolff plays a care worker who encourages a cancer patient to join a group visit to New York City.The third film in the A Quiet Place series is a spin-off and prequel featuring new characters in a new setting. Sam is a poet and cancer patient spending her final days in a palliative facility near New York City. Her care worker Reuben notices her bitter, isolated state and encourages her to join a group visit he is leading to the city. She agrees, bringing along her pet cat Frodo.
They are absent in the new film, but in their place is a found family. On the day of the invasion, terminally ill Sam finds a psychologically shattered Eric . The two strangers develop a bond that will see them through the horrors. Most of all, the story tries to capture the national unity felt afterwards, when for a time, Americans put aside individualistic impulses for the collective good. Sarnoski, in his second feature after the critically acclaimed foodie thriller Pig , puts the spirit of selflessness front and centre.
