“Dear friends, I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous,” she wrote in a statement posted on. “The operation was successful & I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it.”
Wilson underwent surgery to remove a cancerous growth and is, fortunately, recovering steadily. But because of her treatment, doctors advised the singer to “take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover.”All previously purchased tickets for the now-postponed shows will be honored, where the rescheduled dates will be announced in the coming weeks, according to the release.
“To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs...” she wrote. “My team is getting those details sorted & we’ll let you know the plan as soon as we can.” But the “Crazy on You” singer said fans should only view the medical situation as only a setback as it won’t be a permanent one. She also thanked her longtime fans for their everlasting support.“This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing,” she added. “Love, Ann Wilson. Respectfully, this is the last public statement I’d like to make on the matter.
